After entering a receipt, you can reverse the entry.

 

To reverse a cash receipt entry

  1. Select Accounts Receivable Main menu > Cash Receipts Entry. If you have Batch Processing enabled, the Cash Receipts Entry Batch window appears. Enter the Batch Number field and click Accept.

  2. In the Cash Receipts Deposit window, enter the deposit number, description, bank code, and deposit date. For more information, see Cash Receipts Deposit – Fields.

To reverse a credit deposit amount, enter the reversal as a CASH deposit.

  1. In the Cash Deposit Amount field, enter the deposit amount as a negative amount and click Accept.

Note The Cash Deposit Amount field is available only if the Require Deposit Amount check box is selected in Accounts Receivable Options.

  1. In Cash Receipts Entry, enter the same customer and check number as the original receipt.

  2. In the Amount Received field, enter a negative amount.

  3. Click the Lines tab.

  4. Select the invoice or invoices that were paid with the original receipt and click Accept.

  5. Print and update the Cash Receipts Journal.

The original receipt entry is reversed.
