 Overview

Use the following procedure to set up a customer's credit card.

 Before You Begin

Set up payment types in Payment Type Maintenance. For more information, see Set Up Credit Card and ACH Payment Processing.

Set up the customer credit card record

1. Select Accounts Receivable Main menu > Customer Maintenance.

2. Enter the customer number and click the Additional tab. For more information, see Customer Maintenance - Fields.

3. Click Credit Cards / ACH Payments.  

4. In Customer Credit Card and ACH Payment Maintenance, select the payment type, and enter a payment ID to identify the credit card. For more information, see Customer Credit Card and ACH Payment Maintenance - Fields.

5. Click Add New to start Sage Exchange.

6. Enter the credit card number and expiration date, and click Submit.

7. If the selected payment type is set up to allow corporate cards, in the Corporate ID/PO field, enter the corporate ID or purchase order number assigned to the user of the corporate card.

Note The corporate ID or purchase order number is not required to process transactions; however, the credit card company may charge higher fees to complete transactions if this information is not tracked. You can also enter the corporate ID or purchase order number on the Payment tab during data entry in Sales Order Entry, S/O Invoice Data Entry, Cash Receipts Entry, A/R Invoice Data Entry, and A/R Repetitive Invoice Entry.

8. Enter any other information for the credit card, and then click Accept.

9. If you want to make this card the customer's primary credit card, enter the payment ID on the Additional tab in Customer Maintenance.
